Known until the early 1960′s as a quiet fishing village, Búzios skyrocketed to fame when actress Brigitte Bardot spent time in the town. Today, fishing still exists but the town has evolved into a world-class holiday and tourist destination while still preserving its rustic charm. Búzios is ideal for every type of traveller – whether you are looking for a laid back and relaxing vacation or 24/7 action, you can find it here! Located only 100 miles from the city of Rio de Janeiro, Buzios served as the Beck & Score getaway city during the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.
Considered by many as the “St. Tropez” of Brazil, you will never run out of exciting activities to pursue. Rua das Pedras and the Bardot Beachfront, are the main spots for bars and restaurants: This is where it all happens. The street is a little over 400 meters long, but it is charm laden from end to end. If it weren’t for this street, Búzios just wouldn’t be the same. Restaurants serve all kinds of food covering all gastronomic cultures. Friendly bars with live shows – some facing the ocean – invite you to sit and appreciate the ever-popular sport of people-watching. Art galleries, stylish stores featuring national and foreign brands, and beautiful sun tanned Brazilians make up the scene here all year long.
Visitors in Búzios love to stay active and enjoy the natural beauty of this place with outdoor activities. Paddle boarding, kayaking, and of course surfing are common activities. Another great way to explore Búzios is by boat. With more than 20 beaches to see, this is a boat ride to remember!
Beck & Score also curated unique experiences for our guests while in Búzios: big wave surfer Garrett "GMAC" McNamara took clients out to surf and paddle board and Beck & Score hosted exclusive weekly dinners for our clients at Rocka Beach Lounge.
Throughout his two weeks in Buzios, GMAC gave free surf lessons exclusively to our members, presenting the rare opportunity to venture past the break with the legend himself. On land, GMAC join our members as they soaked up the local nightlife and culinary scene
Beck & Score was also excited to share one of our favorite dining experiences with our clients: weekly dinners hosted at Rocka Beach Lounge. Voted to Condé Nast Traveller’s Gold Standard list in 2013, this beach-side restaurant is home to one of the area’s finest chefs, Gustavo Rinkevich. Chef Gustavo leads a kitchen that only uses the best of the best and the finest regional ingredients. The fish is always caught fresh by the local fishermen and a large part of the vegetables and spices are grown in their very own garden. Every meal here is one to remember!
